Athanasios Kelemis, was born in 1959 in Katerini, Grecce. After studying computer science at the Technical University of Berlin, he obtained a PhD degree in mechanical engineering at the same University. Mr. Kelemis started his professional career in Germany at Berlins Technical University, as an Assistant Professor in Computer Science. Later, he became a Senior Consultant on Development IT- and Organizational-Strategies at a banking and insurance sector.
He was Deputy Managing Director and later Managing Director in a consulting company for business organization and development of operational information systems in Germany for 8 years.
He taught as Honorary Professor at the University of Lübeck and as a Assoc. Professor at the University of Applied Sciences in Thessaloniki and West Makedonien. Currently he is an Assoc. Professor at the International Hellenic University in Department of Supply Chain Management and Logistics. Research Areas: Distributed Systems and Internet Applications in trade and economy.
In 2002 he accepted the position of Director of Hellenic-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Department of Northern Greece and at the same time, he was Representative in Greece of the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce, focusing on issues about transferring technology and knowledge on the environment and energy fields between Greece and Germany.
Mr. Kelemis, since October 2012 is the General Manager of the German-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Athens and since September 2013 he is a member of the Board of Directors.
