Anna Batistatou, MD (1988, University of Patras, Greece), PhD (1993, GSAS, Columbia University, USA), is the Rector of University of Ioannina. She is a Professor of Pathology and Director of the Department of Pathology of University of Ioannina, and the Department of Pathology/Cytology of the University Hospital of Ioannina. She has continuous diagnostic, teaching, and research activities. Her research interests focus on molecular pathogenesis of malignant neoplasms, the study of prognostic and predictive markers, and the applications of AI in Pathology. She has 229 international publications (PubMed), with 5358 citations and h-index:38 (Scopus). She is also author of a literary book entitled «Life in stone», Ed. FAGOTTOBOOKS, 2016.
