Curriculum Vitae

Bernhard Steinrücke has been the Director General of the Indo‐German Chamber of Commerce
since 2003. He is on the board of various Indo‐German and Indian companies and since 2016,
the AHK world speaker.

Bernhard Steinrücke was born on 29 June 1955 in Frankfurt as the third of seven children of a
banker. He studied Law and Economics at the Universities of Vienna, Bonn, Geneva and
Heidelberg, from where in 1980 he received a law degree with distinction. In 1983 he passed
the Bar exam at the High Court of Hamburg. After working for Coopers & Lybrand Chartered
Accountants he joined Deutsche Bank AG and was an assistant of a member of the Board.
From1989 until 1997 he was General Manager of Deutsche Bank in Idar‐Oberstein, Colombo
and Bombay and Joint Chief Executive Officer ‐ India. From 1993 until 1997 he was also a
Committee Member and Treasurer of the Indo‐German Chamber of Commerce. From 1997 to
2003, Mr Steinruecke was the Managing Partner and Spokesperson on the board of ABCPrivatkunden‐
Bank with its headquarters in Berlin.

Since July 2003, Mr Steinruecke has been the Director General of the Indo‐German Chamber of
Commerce and since 2016, the AHK world speaker.
